The board will consider hiring M. Tanner Contracting of Dawsonville to fix the roof leaks at Dunleith and Lockheed elementary schools at a price of $86,800 each.
The repairs have been requested at both schools because the skylight domes are worn out, frayed, darkened and energy inefficient.
M. Tanner Contracting, who was one of four contractors that submitted a bid, would replace the old lights with new light-enhancing skylight domes, according to the agenda.
The board also will consider approving Pride Roofing Inc. of Lithonia to replace a portion of each elementary school’s roof over their kitchen areas for $54,500 each.
Pride Roofing is one of four companies that submitted a bid for the contract to fix the schools’ kitchen roofs.
In other business, the board also will look into purchasing 300 Dell laptops with three-year warranties as well as 12 laptop carts for Marietta Sixth Grade Academy.
The total cost for the computers is $229,500, and the total cost for the laptop carts is $9,206.60.
It will be paid for with SPLOST funds.
According to the board agenda, the district will replace 159 units out of warranty, 112 laptops will be for the magnet program and 29 of them are new computers.
Four laptop carts are for the magnet program, four will replace broken or worn out carts and four will be new.
