Carl G. Kemp, 94, of Acworth, died Sunday, March 10, 2013. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 Tuesday morning in the chapel of Collins Funeral Home with the Rev. Ronnie Howard and the Rev. Ray Owens officiating. A lifelong resident of Acworth, Mr. Kemp served his country in the US Army during WW II. He was a member of Acworth Lodge # 176 F&AM and a member of the New Zion Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his wife of 55 years, Elizabeth Hufstetler Kemp and is survived by his children, Thomas Kemp, Andrew Kemp, Stephen Kemp, Martin Kemp, Carla Kemp Reynolds, and Judy Kemp Quispe; grandchildren, Caty Quispe Kemp, Deborah Kemp, William Kemp, Sheryl Kemp, Cody Kemp, Matthew Quispe Kemp, and Kyle Kemp; sister, Era Haney; several nieces and nephews. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Georgia Sheriff’s Youth Home P. O. Box 1000 Stockbridge, GA 30281 www.georgiasheriffsyouth.org.
