Forsyth Central 3, Kell 0: Bryce O’Brien’s double in the second inning proved to be the Longhorns’ lone hit as they lost the Region 7AAAAA home game.
Avery McReynolds allowed one earned run on six hits in taking the loss for Kell (3-4, 0-1), which will be at Creekview today.
Lassiter 23, Wheeler 0: Thirteen players scored as the Trojans cruised to the Area 2AAAAAA win at Frank Fillmann Stadium.
David Olsen had five goals and an assist for Lassiter (4-1, 2-1), which led 18-0 at halftime. Jack Fitzharris and Conner Bell each had three goals, with Fitzharris contributing an assist.
Parker Styles and Brad Armstrong combined for the shutout, saving the only two shots they faced.
Lassiter (4-1, 2-1) will continue area play Monday at Cherokee.
Allatoona 15, Kennesaw Mountain 2: Ryan Tesler had five goals and two assists for the Buccaneers in their convincing non-area win at home.
Gunnar Schafers added two goals and three assists for Allatoona (5-0), which led 8-1 at halftime.
Connor Hanson had seven saves for Allatoona, which will host Mount Paran Christian on Wednesday.
Lassiter 13, Hutchinson (Tenn.) 9: Cydney Tuchton scored a team-high three goals to lead the Lady Trojans past the top-ranked team of Tennessee.
Jill Rankin, Alex Fusco, Lucy Mills and Alexa Daugherty each had two goals, and Tuchton contributed an assist.
Lauren Weatherhead’s nine saves also led Lassiter (4-0), which will resume Area 2AAAAAA play Monday at Cherokee.
Hillgrove 9, Newnan 8: Olivia Ellis scored off an assist from Marilyn Pruitt with 4 minutes left, and the Lady Hawks held on the remainder of the game to pick up the Area 1AAAAAA victory.
Tianna Clark totaled five goals and one assist for Hillgrove (4-1, 1-0), which trailed 6-4 at halftime. Pruitt added two goals and one assist, while Ellis finished with one goal and four assists. Katrina Caruso scored one goal.
Maci Murdock stopped five shots for Hillgrove, which will be at Etowah on Tuesday.
Kennesaw Mountain 17, Pope 10: The Lady Mustangs held a seven-goal lead at halftime and cruised to the non-area road win.
Megan Dreyer had four goals and three assists for Kennesaw Mountain (3-1). Lily Morin added four goals, while Caitlin Farmer chipped in two goals and two assists. Amanda Griffin contributed two goals as well.
Monica Hicks had seven saves for Kennesaw Mountain, which will host Tri-Cities on Wednesday.
Harrison 166, Kennesaw Mountain 177: The Hoyas won their first dual match of the season at Brookstone Golf and Country Club, with a familiar name leading their scorecard.
Luke Schniederjans, the freshman brother of former Harrison standout Ollie Schniederjans, shot a 3-over 39. Matt McMahon and Brian Greaves each added 42s, while Nick Bell shot 43.
Johnathan Keppler led all players with a 37 for Kennesaw Mountain. Cole Hunsucker had 44, with Andrew Walter and Zach Wilson each shooting 48.
Harrison will compete Tuesday in the North Georgia Invitational at Barnsley Gardens in Adairsville.
North Cobb 5, McEachern 0: The Warriors took all five points without dropping a set and remained undefeated on the season.
Grant Westbrook won 6-4, 6-4 at No. 1 singles, Jack Dobkin 6-1, 6-4 at No. 2 and Kyle Leviton 6-1, 6-1 at No. 3.
The No. 1 doubles team of Raggi Svansson and Jake Tuchmann won 6-1, 6-3, while the No. 2 team of Will O’Rourke and Tyler Regelsky had the easiest road of all, winning 6-0, 6-1.
North Cobb (4-0, 2-0 Region 4AAAAAA) will travel to Pebblebrook today.
Allatoona 3, Cass 2: Keenan Shaw survived a tough first set to win at No. 1 singles, providing a point that proved pivotal for the Buccaneers in the Region 5AAAAA match.
Shaw won 7-5, 6-1 and was bolstered by Harrison Zempel’s 6-0, 6-2 in at No. 3.
The No. 1 doubles team of Justin Cumbie and Michael Allen added a
6-1, 6-3 win for Allatoona (3-1, 2-0), which will host Villa Rica on Tuesday.
No. 1 Zachary Garrison, No. 2 Jay Buxton and No. 3 Matt Efrmov blanked their respective opponents for Marietta (2-0, 1-0), as did the duo of David Ho and Jackson Mitchell at No. 2 doubles. Jacob Pope and Patrick Lee allowed the lone game at No. 1 doubles.
Marietta will host Cass on Monday.
Walker 3, Harrison 2: Alan Norsworthy’s 6-3, 3-6, 10-8 victory at No. 3 singles clinched the match for the undefeated Wolverines in non-region action.
Derrick Brown blanked his opponent at No. 1 singles, and the No. 1 tandem of Will Chocallo and Daniel Sosnovsky captured a 6-2, 6-2 victory.
Jack Hadaway won 7-5, 4-6, 10-8 at No. 2 singles for Harrison. Lee Chadwick and Dylan Harvey won 7-5, 6-3 at No. 2 doubles.
Walker (4-0) will host Hillgrove on Monday.
Walton 5, Etowah 0: Johanna Keeline didn’t allow a game at No. 3 singles, the best effort of the Lady Raiders’ five points in the Region 5AAAAAA matchup.
Suzanne Zenoni allowed two games at No. 1, with Melissa Mashburn winning 6-2, 6-3 at No. 2.
The No. 1 doubles team of Katie Riley and Jessica Cramer won 7-5, 6-2, with Sophia Guldberg and Erica Bauer winning 6-2, 6-2 at No. 2.
Walton (5-0, 3-0) will travel to Cherokee on Tuesday.
Harrison 3, Walker 2: The Lady Hoyas used a pair of singles points to win the all-county match with the perennial Class A power.
Alexis Morris was spotless at No. 1, while No. 2 player Wendy Jhang split the first two sets 6-7, 6-0 before winning a 10-6 super tiebreaker. Taylor Lambertson and Jaclyn Black also provided a point at No. 1 doubles, winning 3-6, 6-2, 10-7.
Walker’s Mia Pattillo rallied for a 3-6, 6-2, 10-7 win at No. 3 singles, while Audrey Cunningham and Leigh Nosworthy won 6-2, 7-6 (4) at No. 2 doubles.
Harrison (3-4-1) will host South Cobb on Monday in a Region 4AAAAAA match. Walker (2-2) will host another higher-classification team, Hillgrove.
Allatoona 5, Cass 0: Aside from needing a first-set tiebreaker at No. 3 singles, the Lady Buccaneers dominated the Region 5AAAAA road match.
Haley Proctor gutted out a 7-6 (3) win in her opening set before romping the second 6-0. Kennedy Craig and Allison Whitley also dominated their singles matches.
Melanie Whitley and Kristi Cooper only allowed two games at No. 1 doubles, while Kat Pugh and Lauren Lees allowed four at No. 2.
Allatoona (4-0, 3-0) will travel Tuesday to Lithia Springs.
Kennesaw Mountain 5, South Cobb 0: The Lady Mustangs did not allow a game in earning the Region 4AAAAAA road victory.
Kennesaw Mountain (5-1, 2-0) collected forfeits at No. 3 singles and No. 2 doubles. It also had Chika Okonkwo and Ivy Evatt blank their opponents at No. 1 and No. 2 singles, respectively. Marilyn Corn and Samantha Maddin won in straight sets at No. 1 doubles.
Kennesaw Mountain will host Harrison on Tuesday.
Marietta 3, Pebblebrook 2: The Lady Blue Devils led 2-1 when their No. 2 doubles team of Annie Disselaoen and Elizabeth Franklin won 6-0, 6-0 to clinch the Region 4AAAAAA road victory.
Wilson Wood won 6-2, 6-1 at No. 1 singles for Marietta (1-1, 1-0), while the No. 1 duo of Aya Maghribi and Brooke Donnelly also won in straight sets.
Pebblebrook’s Ella Wade won 6-1, 6-3 at No. 2 singles, and Janiecia Gay picked up a 6-2, 6-2 win at No. 3.
Marietta will host Cass on Monday.
Hillgrove 5, Campbell 0: Chioma Okonkwo won 6-1, 6-2 at No. 1 singles to lead the Lady Hawks to the Region 4AAAAAA road win.
Jessica Cantrell lost one game at No. 2, while Sarah Simm swept at No. 3 singles for Hillgrove (4-1, 1-0). Jaiden Massi and Hannah Creech dropped one game at No. 1 doubles, as did the No. 2 duo of Emily Deubel and Scarlet Fernandez.
Hillgrove is at Walker on Monday.
Pope 4, Creekview 1: Taylor Reed and Kate Weber won in straight sets at No. 1 and No. 2 singles, respectively, for the Lady Greyhounds, who earned their first Region 7AAAAA win.
Megan Matsumoto only lost a game at No. 3, while Katie Story and Lauren Husney blanked their opponents at
No. 1 doubles for Pope (2-3, 1-1), which will host Alpharetta on Saturday as part of Lassiter’s T3 tournament.
Our Lady of Mercy 3, Walker 2 (2OT): Down to 10 players from the 8-minute mark of the first half on, the Lady Wolverines nearly sent the game into penalty kicks before settling for a non-area loss.
Marika Papadopoulos scored off a penalty kick in the first half, for a 1-0 Walker lead.
Goalkeeper Megan Turner was red-carded with 8 minutes left in the first half, forcing the Lady Wolverines (2-3) to play with 10 players the rest of the game.
Walker trailed 2-1 halfway through the second half, but tied the contest up with 12 minutes remaining behind Nika Fendler’s goal off Hannah Pfohl’s assist.
Our Lady of Mercy scored the game-winner with a minute-and-a-half left in the second overtime.
Backup goalkeeper Lauren Brock made nine saves for Walker, which will host Lovett on Tuesday.
