Emory says Ambassador Choi Young-jin had to cancel because he wasn’t able to travel to Atlanta for the Thursday event because of flight cancellations caused by winter weather.
Choi was scheduled to talk about U.S.-Korea relations as part of “U.S.-Korea Connections,” an event presented by Emory’s Halle Institute for Global Learning and the Consulate General of the Republic of Korea in Atlanta. The Halle Institute is working to reschedule the event.
Choi previously served as South Korea’s permanent representative to the United Nations from 2005 to 2007. He has also served in other diplomatic and foreign relations roles.
