James Eugene (Gene) Miller, 72, of Smyrna passed away from complications of Alzheimer’s disease on February 25, 2013. Funeral services will be held 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, February 27, 2013 at Mary’s Memorial Baptist Church in Marietta, Georgia, where he was a member. Rev. Nathan Smith and Rev. Bobby McFarland will officiate. Interment will be at Kennesaw Memorial Cemetery. Born in Atlanta, Georgia on April 6, 1940, Gene worked over forty years in the service station business and ended his career as a guard at Lockheed Martin. He is survived by his wife of fifty-four years, Barbara Carver Miller; his only son Michael Miller and daughter-in-law, Debbie DuBois Miller; two granddaughters, Krystina and Machaela Miller of Kennesaw; sisters, Kathleen Wooster and Barbara McCloud; brothers, Gary Miller and Hugh Miller; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, James and Ola Mae Miller and his brother Ray Miller. Visitation for family and friends will be Tuesday night, February 26th from 4:00 to 8:00 at Mayes Ward-Dobbins Funeral Home in Marietta.
