MARIETTA — A former federal immigration agent will spend his life in prison for the murders of his former wife and her boyfriend.

Michael Ntiamoah, 34, was sentenced Friday to two life sentences, plus 10 years, for the 2010 killings at a townhouse on Bexley Place in Kennesaw.

According to the Cobb district attorney’s office, Ntiamoah, a former Marine who was employed as an agent with the U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement office, kicked in the front door of the townhouse shared by his former wife, Fatoumata Diallo Ntiamoah, and her boyfriend, Mohammed Zaine, before dawn on Dec. 18, 2010.

Michael Ntiamoah then emptied multiple clips from his federally issued gun and chased Fatoumata Ntiamoah outside the Bexley Place home, where she died, according to a release issued Friday by District Attorney Vic Reynolds’ office. Zaine was shot 15 times.

Fatoumata Ntiamoah was shot nine times, including a close-range shot to her face. Michael Ntiamoah pleaded guilty on Nov. 29, 2012, to two counts of malice murder, two counts of felony murder, two counts of aggravated assault, two counts of aggravated battery, two counts of possession of a firearm during the commission of a crime and one count of burglary.

On Friday, Cobb Superior Court Judge C. LaTain Kell sentenced Ntiamoah to serve the two life sentences concurrently and without the possibility of parole. Kell also ordered him to serve five years consecutively on the firearms charges.

Deputy Chief Assistant District Attorney Jesse Evans, the lead prosecutor, urged Judge Kell to deny Ntiamoah the possibility of parole, arguing that “this was a tactical double execution with motive, malice and premeditation.”

The state originally sought the death penalty, which Ntiamoah avoided by entering his guilty plea.
