Smyrna accidents kill man, injure police

SMYRNA — A Cobb County police officer is recovering from leg injuries after crashing his motorcycle on the East-West Connector in Smyrna on Wednesday morning. He swerved to avoid a driver coming out of a Wal-Mart parking lot.

The driver, an unidentified woman, has not been charged. The officer was on his way to help a fellow officer investigate a fatality crash at the East-West Connector and Fontaine Road. No names have been released.
