Mr. Roy Rogers O’Hern, 86 of Evans, GA formerly of Marietta, died Sunday, February 10, 2013. Roy was a WWII veteran serving his country in the U.S. Navy. He was a Deacon Emeritus at Milford Baptist Church where he taught Sunday school and other activities. Mr. O’Hern also held member ship at Tabernacle Baptist Church in Carrollton, GA. Roy was a bus driver for MARTA and Marietta City Schools, retiring from both after many years of service. He loved Braves baseball, fishing, gospel music and spending time with his grandchildren. Survivors include: his wife of 62 years, Joe Etta O’Hern; daughter and son-in-law. Peggy and Joey Lloyd of Evans, GA; one brother, Joel O’Hern of Norfolk, VA; two sisters, Louise Pylant of Orlando, FL and Gaynell Jones of Aubrundale, FL; grandchildren, Kayla Lloyd, Brenli Lloyd, Noah Lloyd and Levi Lloyd. Funeral services will be held on Thursday at 2:00 p.m. from Georgia Memorial Park Funeral Home in Marietta with Dr. Jimmy Gentry officiating. Burial will follow in Georgia Memorial Park Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Wednesday from 5:00 until 8:00 pm at the funeral home. Gentleman serving as pallbearers will include: Tommy Pylant, Alan Ray Pylant, Marc Krausnick, Noah Lloyd, Alex Crew, Jody Bearden and Levi Lloyd will be serving as an honorary pallbearer.
