In the midst of the hullabaloo surrounding the failure of Cobb Commissioners Tim Lee and Helen Goreham to support the IMAGE ordinance, which would take jobs from illegal aliens and give them back to unemployed citizens and legal workers of Cobb County, a question occurred to me.
I asked and was told that even if this ordinance is passed, it would not affect the way the Cobb County School District does business. I find that both strange and upsetting. The CCSD, in its normal operations, and through the SPLOST funding, expends millions of dollars of Cobb Country taxpayer funds.
Why should it not be held to the same standards as the county government insofar as seeing that jobs go to residents and not illegal aliens? Is it to be permissible for illegal aliens to get their hands on our taxpayer funds, leaving Cobb County residents unemployed, simply because the contractor is working for the CCSD instead of Cobb County? I don’t think so.
Shortly we are going to be asked to vote on another Special Purpose Local Option Sales Tax for the Cobb School District. It seems to me that it would be to their benefit to get on board with the IMAGE program, both as far as the CCSD itself is concerned and especially for their contractors, if they intend to sell this SPLOST to the people.
We should all be in contact with our School Board representatives and insisting upon it, for the good of our neighbors who are unemployed and for the good of our county. I know I will be doing so.

No more School SPLOST until the County and Cities all take a serious stand and apply IMAGE to all county projects.
Delay the SPLOST vote until all have passed IMAGE certification, or vote the SPLOST down.
After the offending subcontractor was publicly identified, instead of eliminating them from public funds, the traitor employer and his illegal alien workforce were again discovered.
Take a look at the road crews of C. W. Matthews - either they are discriminating against every other race and nationality other than Hispanic or they just hire illegal aliens with a couple of white supervisors standing around watching the workforce.
But tying this as to reason not to vote for SPLOST is childish and ridiculous. If you won't support SPLOST, have a good reason, not as extortion.
You are right, it is not a perfest world. PEOPLE LIE AND CHEAT TO MAKE MONEY. and others cover up for them to line their own pcokets.
