The 16-year-old boy accepted a plea deal Wednesday in the death of 77-year-old Mary Joan Gibbs, who was killed Aug. 15, 2011. A judge sentenced the teen to life in prison.
Police say the teen stabbed Gibbs and his grandmother, Laura Price, after he was told to stop playing video games. A jury in November found the boy competent to stand trial.
Although the teen was charged as an adult with malice murder and four counts of aggravated assault, the Associated Press typically does not identify juvenile crime suspects.
