Mr. William “Bill” Stacy, 64, of Marietta, GA passed away February 2, 2013. He was born in Winchester, KY on May 20, 1948 to the late Helen and William Q. Stacy. He graduated from the University Of Kentucky School Of Engineering in 1970, which is where he met his wife, Pat. Bill is survived by his loving wife of 42 years, Patricia “Pat” Stacy; daughter, Rebecca Nelson and her husband Spencer; grandchildren Carter and Allison Nelson and a large extended family and many friends. Bill was a loving husband, wonderful father and adoring granddaddy. Since his childhood, Bill was a committed Christian and servant of God. He was an active member of Johnson Ferry Baptist Church, serving as a deacon, led the Men’s Ensemble and was a member of the choir. Because of his deep faith, he supported innumerable ministries and missions around the world. A man filled with faith, creativity and many life accomplishments, he was never found boasting. An extremely ethical business man, Bill endowed an Engineering Ethics Education Series at the University of Kentucky in 2008. Bill enjoyed a rewarding 37 year career with BellSouth/AT&T, retiring as CIO/Vice President of Telecommunications Business Markets. Bill was always reading, learning, growing and teaching. He was an avid wood worker and collector of antique tools; and very much loved the ocean and beach. A funeral service will be held on Friday, February 8, 2013 at noon in the sanctuary of Johnson Ferry Baptist Church. The family will receive friends on Thursday from 6:00-8:00pm at H.M. Patterson & Son Canton Hill.
