Tony Minter, Sr enjoyed life to the fullest. He was kind and joyful to all. Tony passed away Tuesday, January 29, 2013 at the age of 63. A Cobb County native, Tony was born July 13, 1949, the youngest child of Genelle and Hayden Minter. A devoted, loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend. Tony was a member of the Wills High School Class of ’67 and attended Elkins Electronic Institute. He was a member of Macland Baptist Church. Tony owned and operated Awards Specialist in Marietta, for 32 years before retiring in 2012. He was a 22 year member at Dogwood Golf Club. Tony leaves behind his true love, childhood sweetheart, dedicated wife, Becky Minter, beautiful, adored daughter, Stephanie Minter Prevost, faithful son, golf partner and namesake, Tony Minter, Jr., loving, handsome, favorite grandson, James Devin Prevost, beautiful, talented granddaughters Stella and Rachel Minter, thoughtful, selfless, daughter-in-law Dorothy Minter, and son-in-law, Tommy Prevost, Beloved, dedicated siblings, Randall and Warren Minter, Harriett Minter Hall. He was very proud of his amazing nieces and nephews. Cherished by an army of friends. Treasured memories will always be tucked away in our hearts. The family will receive friends 2-7, Saturday, February 2 and Sunday February 3, 1-2 at Carmichael Funeral Home in Marietta, Georgia. Celebration of LOVE Service will be held Sunday, February 3 at 2:30 in the chapel. Internment following at Kennesaw Memorial Cemetary Contributions would be welcome, in Mr. Minter’s memory, to hopeforthewarriors.org.
