Doreen McVeigh Brown of Belfast, Northern Ireland and Marietta, GA passed on Wednesday, January 30, 2013 at the age of 91. Family will receive friends 12:00 noon to 2:00 p.m. Sunday at Mayes Ward-Dobbins Funeral Home and Crematory Macland Chapel in Powder Springs with a private graveside service. She was born the 7th of 9 daughters to Catherine and Samuel McVeigh of Belfast, Northern Ireland. Predeceased by her husband, J. H. Brown, son-in-law James Alan Watkins and seven of her nine sisters and eight brothers-in-law. Mrs. Brown is survived by children, Joan Brown Glover, Marietta, Ga., Eileen Brown Watkins, Marietta, GA and Pamela and Michael Brown of Rockmart; her beloved grandchildren, Donna Ann Wood and husband Kelly Wood of Dallas, GA, Glenn Joseph Glover and wife Sossity Glover of Woodstock, Kimberly Eileen Watkins-Swenk and Jason Swenk of Smyrna, Alan James Watkins and fiancée Cathleen Woodgeard of Richmond, Virginia, Michael Scott Brown and wife Danni Brown of Douglasville, Ga.; her most precious great-grandchildren, Ellen, Brett, Mackenzie, Austin, D.J., Jesse, Luke, Chase, Reece and Rylan; her sister Eileen Rea in Houston, Texas; nieces and nephews in Northern Ireland, England, South Africa, Texas and New Jersey. Doreen loved the beach, was an avid reader and loved to travel, but her most passionate devotion was to her family. She was a member of First Presbyterian Church of Marietta.
