Cobb County Elementary school students have been chosen to have their artwork published in a coloring book celebrating water conservation. The Eighth Annual Allatoona Ally Artist Contest received a record 1,130 entries from fourth- and fifth-grade students depicting Ally, the ambassador for Lake Allatoona, conserving water. From that pool, 12 entries were chosen.

Winners include Evelyn Armstrong, Landon Brown, Lanayah Davis, Kristy Duncan, Haven Freeman, Lana Huynh, Elise Johnson, Kaytlyn Jones, David Qu, Cassandra Waldron, Hao Song Wang and Avery Watson. Fifth-grader Cassandra Waldron was the overall winner of this year’s contest, and her artwork will be displayed on the cover of the coloring book. There will be a party at 5 p.m. Feb. 5 at the Cobb County Central Library to honor the artists.

“We look forward to sharing this coloring book and the work from our young artists with the community,” said Kathy Nguyen, senior project manager at Cobb County Water System.

The coloring book will be available for free download at www.waters mart.net.
