Olsen provided the go-ahead basket in the fourth quarter — only 35 seconds in, and the only points scored by either team in the period. Then, Olsen provided the game-tying shot with 11 seconds left in the first overtime period.
Lassiter’s defense took over from there, keeping Pope off the scoreboard in the second overtime.
Olsen led the Lady Trojans (9-11) with 16 points and 10 rebounds, the fifth double-double of the season for the freshman. Gabby Garza added 14 points, and Mackenzie Kayler had 11.
Pope (15-6) was led by Kierra Henry’s 17 points and Andrea Brown’s 16.
Lassiter will resume its Region 5AAAAAA schedule Tuesday at Milton. Pope will travel to Creekview in a 7AAAAA game.
Mount Paran Christian 42, Pace Academy 39: Two freshmen led the Lady Eagles as they held on for the non-region win.
Brianna Brown finished with a double-double of 16 points and 10 rebounds to go with her five steals and five assists, while Taya Welch hit three 3-pointers and had 13 points.
Sarah Kelly, Emily Spillane and Shannon McGeary each added seven rebounds for Mount Paran (10-6), which will host Mount Pisgah Christian for a Region 6A game Tuesday.
Whitefield Academy 50, Lanett (Ala.) 47: The Wolfpack rallied to beat the visitor from just across the state line.
After falling behind in the fourth quarter, Whitefield (10-9) grabbed the lead back for good on Brendon Myles’ layup with about 2 minutes to go.
Myles and Eric Lockett led with 13 points apiece for the Wolfpack, who will host King’s Ridge Christian on Tuesday.
Lithia Springs 75, South Cobb 57: The Eagles had an early lead, but a 27-11 run by the Lions in the second quarter proved to be more than they could handle in the non-region matchup.
Antonio Wade led South Cobb with 14 points, Milique Johnson finished with 10 and Anthony Showell added nine points.
South Cobb (9-10) will travel to McEachern on Tuesday.
Pope 51, Lassiter 40: Eli Gruber scored 12 points to help the Greyhounds gradually pull away from the Trojans in a non-region contest.
Pope led 15-12 at the break, but it built a consistent seven- to 10-point lead through much of the second half.
Andrew Mendel added 10 points for the Greyhounds.
Austin Cheatum led Lassiter with eight points.
Pope (14-7) will travel to Creekview on Tuesday, while Lassiter (5-16) will travel to Milton.
Mount Paran Christian 74, Pace Academy 42: Will Crone scored 13 first-half points to help the Eagles get the lead, and then Blake Jones took over in the third quarter.
Mount Paran led the non-region game 38-25 at the half, but Jones connected on three third-quarter 3-pointers to spark a 20-8 run to take control of the game.
Jones finished the night with 21 points, Crone had 17 and Andrew Rogers added 16. Jordan VerSteeg just missed a double-double with nine points and 11 rebounds, and Emoni Williams scored only two points, but dished out seven assists.
Mount Paran (15-4) will host Fellowship Christian on Tuesday.
Walker 54, Atlanta International 32: Cole Warner scored 10 first-half points to get the Wolverines started, and they finished by breaking a 17-game losing streak.
Warner finished with 26 points, while Robert Baker added nine points and five rebounds on a night where 10 different players scored.
Walker (2-19) will host St. Francis on Tuesday.
Crown 62, Dominion Christian 39: The Knights struggled to keep up in the road loss, falling behind by 17 at halftime.
Tomae Theriot led with 14 points and Isaiah Primus-Belgrave had nine.
Courtney Alexander Jr. added nine rebounds for Dominion (14-6), which will host Griffin Christian on Tuesday.
