Ricardo Laron Harris, 32, and Ancil Anthony Neil, 24, have been arrested and charged with felony concealing a death on accusations they covered up the death of Yvonne James, who was killed in a hotel room in the 2300 block of Delk Road around 4 a.m. on Jan. 1.
Arrest records indicate that Harris is from Rochester, N.Y., and was arrested Jan. 1. Neil, who is from Austell and was arrested Jan. 2, was also charged with misdemeanor tampering with evidence and theft by taking. They both remain in the Cobb County Jail without bond.
According to the warrant, Harris is accused of going into the hotel room around 4 a.m. to find James dead in the bathtub.
He reportedly contacted Neil in the parking lot of the local hotel to help him remove James’ body from the tub, place her on the floor in the bedroom and wipe down the room with Harris’ shirt to hide any fingerprints, the warrant states.
“(Harris) waited until 6:01 a.m. to call 911 to obtain assistance for the victim,” according to police. “The victim was pronounced dead at (WellStar) Kennestone Hospital (in Marietta).”
Neil is also accused of taking the victim’s cell phone.
“The motel video camera captures the accused running into the room at 6:06 a.m. and then quickly leave,” Neil’s arrest warrant states. “At 6:24 a.m., the cell phone used a cell tower at (a residence in the 1300 block of Mimosa Drive in Marietta). A witness at the motel observed the accused handling the cell phone and wiping finger prints off it.”
Officer David Baldwin with Marietta Police said, “We’re investigating a death under suspicious circumstances, and two people have been arrested. The investigation is still ongoing, and other charges could be pending.”

2 in Smyrna, one, Austell, the one on Griggs Street & this. And a rise in armed robberies, esp. violent armed robberies, also car jacking in Smyrna.
Crime is on the rise, no doubt. South Cobb is taking on South Dekalb. The demographics in Smyrna have swung into a noticeable lower income/poverty class.
This is what happens when folks are silent & don't hold their local elected officials accountable.
Smyrna has not done ONE thing to bring any quality companies in the last 10 years!!
Get out while you can, is my advice!
