COBB COUNTY, Ga. - Residents are still counting their losses and their blessings after a fire at a Cobb County condominium. The fire damaged one building at the Willows Condominiums near Sandy Springs.

On Thursday, smoke poured out of the roof of one building at the complex located near on the Cobb-Fulton County line. Once the fire was out, the families of the ten burned units were accounted for, but only after a rush to get them out of the smoke and flames.

"We ran outside and we had to get everybody out of the building. So we started knocking on the doors screaming," said resident Paul Gonzalez.

Some residents lost valuable family mementos.

"I have all the footage from my wedding, my daughter's wedding, son's wedding, so I've lost all that footage. So a few things you can't replace," said homeowner Ken Ray.

The fire damage was visible on the upper floors of the building, but the lower units suffered smoke and water damage. Residents returned to the complex on Friday, and tried to salvage what they could from the devastating blaze. Many had to counsel loved ones through their losses.

"She was shaken up, kind of in shock a little bit. We were expecting 30 people over last night for a little party, but that didn't happen. She's hoping that a lot of things are ok. We're here to pull some stuff out, so hopefully everything will be all right," said the victim's son, Joey Gonzalez.

The exact cause of the fire remains under investigation, but firefighters believe the fire may have started in an upper level unit. No one was injured in the blaze.
