We are blessed to be able to gather with our family and enjoy time together as others do. While we are saddened by the loss our family suffered in the death of our father and long-time publisher of this newspaper this year, we find comfort and peace in the true meaning of Christmas. Our family is not alone in dealing with the loss of a loved one, sickness, sadness or misfortune this holiday season. We give thanks and celebrate the joys of the season while never forgetting the memories of our family and friends.
Thank you for your support and engaged readership during the past year. Despite difficult economic times in our community and country, our mission and commitment to reporting local news accurately and fairly remains unchanged. Looking ahead to 2013, we have great anticipation for the continued success of the Marietta Daily Journal, thanks to the support of our readers, our advertisers and our truly dedicated staff.
We look forward to bringing you an even better newspaper, with enhanced features and products, in the coming year.
From our family to you and yours, we wish you a Merry Christmas and happy holidays!
Sincerely,
Otis A. Brumby III,
publisher
Lee Brumby Garrett,
