Cupid off to rocky start with future colleagues …
Einstein — I was at the meeting and agree 100% with Commissioner Lisa. Cupid’s observation. The board failed to discuss this matter or ask any questions of the opposing side. I commend Commissioner Bob Ott for the leadership he displayed in this matter and respect him for not voting with the nod squad. We have elected officials making decisions for our area of the community who simply do not care about our area. Why else would they OK a truck stop across from communities without sidewalks and in an area frequented by people walking to and from Six Flags, school bus stops, etc.? They would never place this in their own back yards.
Mountain Molehill — Give Commissioner Thompson credit for his community involvement in this case and accept his approval.
J Johns — That’s exactly while ole Woody is out the door! Bye Bye Woody Woodpecker!
SG68 — It is going to be her district shortly and the other commissioners should respect that.
Here goes Ott — Already making moves to rope Cupid in to his shenanigans. I have no doubt he voted against this just to try and suck Cupid in as his pawn. As is his style, he just votes no when everyone votes yes and he votes yes when everyone votes no.
Cobb Citizen — How can anyone say they thoughtfully considered the views of residents if no discussion or questions are presented? Especially with so much community support against it.
Eastcobbdad — So Cupid is bad-mouthing board members because they voted against a zoning change she opposed? What are they supposed to do, vote in her favor because she is going to be the commissioner next year? How about removing herself from the discussion due to a conflict of interest? She could have had an unfair influence on the vote because of her future position. Glad the others were not intimidated by her belly aching!!!
Not in East Cobb — Would want this next to your neighborhood? Again the commission failed the folks of South Cobb while they talk out of the other side of their mouths as to how the South Cobb needs improvement.
Julie Smart — That’s life in the city, said the kitty. Work and decisions have to move on and not cause a backlog...
Welcome Ms. Cupid — To the real world...
Tom Cheater Guest Column: Response to shooting will be defining moment in history …
Anonymous — It’s interesting that you, like the president, only hint at what you’re really getting at, which is to take away our rights. You are naive sir. Bad people will find a way to do evil. Guns are not inherently evil. You need to recognize where the threat comes from and address it, and until then, don’t try to scold people for something no law could really prevent. Killers are LAWLESS. Evil must be met with equal force by GOOD people. Guns are not the problem.
Friend of Tom — Shame on you for reading between the lines and judging! He could be hinting at a number of solutions. How dare you assume that this article was about gun control. How dare you refer to him as cowardly and disingenuous? Are you in public service? By the way, I support your position on guns. However, I think you give the cause a bad name when you rant online like this. It makes supporters of the right to bear arms look like wing nuts. Not saying you are one, but think about what you wrote!
Friend of Tom — To be fair, I thought Tom was hinting at legislation too. That is one problem of living in a society where political figures hint at what they want to do then bury many other agenda items in their proposals.
