KENNESAW – Two North Cobb High students have been charged with criminal trespass after Cobb Police say they broke into what they thought was an unoccupied home near the school on Monday, Cobb Police Officer Michael Bowman said.
The boy and the girl, both juveniles, were skipping school about 1 p.m. Monday when they entered the house, police said, but when confronted by someone inside the house, the pair ran out and went into the school.
The occupant of the home then called 911, prompting campus police to put the school on code yellow. Code yellow is a heightened state of alert, during which all students are kept in their classrooms.
Bowman said no one was hurt in the incident. Campus police assisted in apprehending at least one of the juveniles, said Doug Goodwin, a spokesman for Cobb Schools.
The students were turned over to their parents, Bowman said.
