The weather was glorious for the Oct. 20 outdoor evening wedding for Kristi Campbell of Marietta and Bradley Horne of Americus. The couple wed at the First United Methodist Park on Polk Street (near the intersection of Powder Springs Street behind the downtown Marietta Square). Kristi and Bradley wed at 6 p.m., in a beautiful setting.

Attendants to the bride were her sister Brittany Campbell and Marietta High School friends Liz Carnignan, Brittany Bothwell Frye, Lauren Martin, and Katie Schoonover. Following the ceremony, a reception was held at the Brickyard at Marietta Station (off the Square).

Prior to the wedding festivities, Kristi was honored along with her bridesmaids at Willie Rae’s (on the Marietta Square) by her grandmothers Mildred Wills and Kandy Campbell and her aunt, Cindi Savage. After the wedding, the couple honeymooned in Costa Rica where they experienced their first 6.6 earthquake.

Congratulations to Winona and Waymon Osterholt of south Cobb who celebrated their 65th wedding anniversary on Nov. 1. Both were born in other states but moved to Cobb County as young children. Winona grew up in the Clarkdale Mill Village and attended Austell Elementary School in the 1930’s. They both graduated from Mableton High School in 1947 and married that same year.

The couple lives in Mableton in the home they purchased as young parents in 1959 where they raised four children while Waymon worked days and attended Georgia State University at night and earning a degree. Winona worked a number of interesting jobs over her life, including school secretary, clerk at a flourmill and employed at a casket company. In the 1950s Waymon took a job at Lockheed where he advanced to flight test engineering, eventually retiring in the 90’s. After retirement, the happy couple traveled the globe and the U.S.
