Center conducting two hiring events

MARIETTA — The Cobb-Cherokee Career Center will host two job recruitments this week.

Executives & More, a staffing company, will be recruiting for outside sales recruiters, leasing agents, grounds keepers and housekeepers, disc jockeys, and heating, ventilation and air conditioning certified maintenance technicians from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Wednesday.

Floor & Décor Outlets will be recruiting product sales specialists, warehouse specialists and customer service associates with at least one year of experience in their respective fields from 10 a.m. to noon Thursday.

Both events will take place at Cobb-Cherokee Career Center, located at 465 Big Shanty Road in Marietta. For more information, contact the Cobb-Cherokee Career Center at (770) 528-6100.

Kennestone gets bronze medal

WellStar Kennestone Hospital was honored with a Department of Health and Human Services Bronze Medal of Honor at the National Learning Congress in Grapevine, Texas, for having outstanding organ donation rates from April 1, 2010, to March 31, 2012.

* Atlanta Allergy & Asthma Clinic, located at 895 Canton Road in Marietta, is celebrating its 40th anniversary. The Marietta office has provided the daily pollen count for metro Atlanta every morning for 23 years.

* Warrior Pride Fitness CrossFit, located at 3405 Dallas Highway, Suite 401 in Marietta, is conducting a White Family CrossFit workout event at 8 a.m. Oct. 27 to benefit a member’s relative who is fighting lymphoma. The event is open to the public. There is a minimum $10 donation to work out that morning.

* Piccadilly Restaurants will raise money for Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation for their annual “Paper Sneaker Sales Program” from Oct. 10 through Nov. 10.

* Chicken and the Egg, located at 800 Whitlock Ave., Suite 124, in Marietta, is offering new menu items and fall specials, including a Tuesday “kids eat free,” a “two for $25” menu on Thursday nights, and Saturday and Sunday $8 bottomless mimosas and $5 Bloody Marys during Brunch.
