MARIETTA — Two Marietta men were arrested Friday in connection with an armed robbery and aggravated assault that took place Friday morning at Mike’s Food Mart in the 3500 block of Austell Road. Orenthyes Savalski Miles, 19, and James David Hayes, 20, have been arrested on charges of armed robbery and aggravated assault and are currently being held in the Cobb County Jail without bond.

According to investigators with the Cobb County Police Department’s Robbery Squad, officers were dispatched to the store in reference to an armed robbery and upon arrival learned that the suspects had robbed the store and the patrons inside and, prior to leaving, struck one of the victims in the head with a gun and then fled the scene on foot with an undisclosed amount of cash.

After what was described by police as an “extensive search,” both Miles and Hayes were found and arrested. The victim, whose name is not being released, was taken to the hospital and treated for non-life threatening injuries. Anyone with information about this incident is asked to call (770) 499-3945.
