NORTHEAST COBB – Cobb Police are investigating a fatal car crash that happened overnight on Blackwell Road near Sanford Drive, in northeast Cobb.
Police say Gary M. Humphreys, 25, lost control of his 2000 Jeep Wrangler about 1:30 a.m. Thursday while driving east on Blackwell Road. The Jeep then went onto the southern shoulder of the road and hit a guardrail, police said. Investigators say Humphreys was not wearing a seatbelt and was ejected from the Jeep. He was dead at the scene, police said. Investigators also believe alcohol may have contributed to the crash.
