MACON, Ga. (AP) _ Officials say construction is under way on a farm equipment company’s distribution center in central Georgia.

Bibb County development officials tell The Telegraph that the $50 million Tractor Supply Co. facility is on track to open in July 2013.

Company executives have said the 650,000 square-foot distribution center in Macon will employ more than 200 workers.

Plans call for an existing Tractor Supply distribution plant in Braselton to close and be replaced by the new one in Macon, which has more than double the space.
