Empty House Party draws a crowd; classmates reunite

On June 20, the Empty House Party took place at the Art & Design Show House located at The Park at Anderson Farm at 256 Hanson Way in Marietta. The event was an opportunity for neighborhood residents, 21 interior designers, Board of Trustees of Marietta Cobb Museum of Art and committee members to see the home before its makeover. The Show House benefiting MCMA opens Sept. 15 and ends Sept. 29.

The Smyrna High School Class of 1951 celebrated its 61st year reunion on June 21 at a luncheon at Howard’s Restaurant. Sixteen graduates and six guests enjoyed much conversation and laughter about their activities back in the day.

This was the last class to graduate from Smyrna High School because the next year, Smyrna and Fitzhugh Lee merged and became Campbell High School.

Fashion spotlight of the week: Named the Overall Evening Gown winner and first runner-up in the Miss Georgia’s Outstanding Teen Pageant last weekend in Columbus, she captured the judges’ vote wearing a Sherri Hill blue sequined, off-the-shoulder form-fitted gown with a feathered bottom: Amelia Hunt, Cobb County’s Outstanding Teen. Hunt is the 16-year-old daughter of Linda and Bob Hunt of Acworth and a senior honors student at Mount Paran Christian School.
