On May 24, Orasi Software CEO Nick Kavadellas spent the day on the links at Towne Lake Hills Golf Club raising awareness and funds for Kell High School’s athletic program and football team. Since 2002, Kavadellas has served as director and head coach of the school’s junior program even though he has no children attending Kell.

He became involved in the program when Kell’s assistant coach Johnny Caldwell recruited Kavadellas (his former quarterback at Sprayberry High School) for coaching assistance. Orasi Software has used its community contacts to support fundraising efforts, bringing in special guests including Jonathan Dwyer and Brian Randolph.

Dwyer played at Kell, Georgia Tech and is a running back for the Pittsburgh Steelers. Randolph also played at Kell, was 2010-11 Gatorade Player of the Year in Georgia, and now starts for the Tennessee Vols. Nicknamed “Kell’s Angel” by Coach Derek Cook, Kavadellas received the 2011 Cobb Volunteer of the Year award in recognition of his work at Kell and creation of Cobb Football League, the official high school feeder youth football and cheer program of Cobb County.

Participants are in kindergarten through fifth grade and play for the high school district where they reside. Kavadellas founded CFL in 2011 and serves as president.
