Sean DGene Hall, 38, was arrested at a Regions Bank on Highway 92 in Cherokee County, on charges of aggravated assault, aggravated battery and murder in the death of Zach Gamble, 34, according to jail records.
According to police, Gamble was at a friend’s birthday party at the Concord Chase apartment complex in Smyrna in the early morning hours of March 25. As the party ended, a group of people confronted Gamble in the parking lot “over an undetermined issue.”
Some time after the confrontation, a cab driver found Gamble lying unresponsive in the parking lot. Gamble was taken to WellStar Kennestone Hospital in Marietta with severe head injuries, where he died two weeks later on April 8.
Sgt. Dana Pierce declined to say how Hall is believed to have been involved in Gamble’s death.
“He was there at the scene, and he was a culpable individual,” Pierce said.
Pierce also wouldn’t say how many, if any, of the other people who confronted Gamble could face charges.
Hall is being held without bail at the Cobb County Jail.
According to a Facebook page for Gamble, “Justice for Zach Gamble,” he was a corporal, a squad leader in the U.S. Marine Corps between 2001 and 2005 and served two tours in Iraq.
The site also says that Gamble was a corporate planner and buyer with Uni-Select Inc. in Kennesaw, where he managed international accounts.
“Gamble was a member of the Golden Key International Honor Society from 2005 to 2007, also selected as Who’s Who Among Students in American Colleges & Universities, an exclusive honor and one of the most prestigious awards in the academic community,” the Facebook pages says.
He also had a son, 7-year-old Luke.
Anyone with information about what may have happened is asked to contact Cobb Police at (770) 499-3945.

Hall's kids, since Hall has white blood, is more white than black, race wasn't the issue, but I do see some of the posters want to make it an issue of race.
RIP Zach.
