Steven Lanser, of the FBI’s Buffalo office, says the incident appears to be a domestic dispute. A woman in the Boston area called to say there might be a bomb aboard Flight 923.
The pilot was told what was happening, but 83 passengers aboard were only told they were diverting to Buffalo-Niagara International Airport.
A woman passenger was taken off the flight and questioned. The Joint Terrorism Task Force in Boston located the woman who placed the call and Lanser says charges are pending.
The passenger compartment, baggage and all passengers were checked by bomb sniffing dogs.
The plane resumed its flight and was scheduled to arrive shortly after noon.
