DECATUR, Ga. (AP) _ The trial of a Georgia man accused of gunning down a young father outside a Dunwoody daycare has resumed after a brief delay.

Defense attorneys for Hemy Neuman returned to court Thursday to make the case that their client was insane when he shot and killed Russell Sneiderman in November 2010. The judge delayed the trial on Monday due to unrelated matters.

In testimony this week, Dr. Adriana Flores said she believed Neuman suffered from bipolar disorder and psychosis during the shooting.

Prosecutors and defense attorneys believe Neuman was having an affair with Andrea Sneiderman. She has denied allegations they were involved in an inappropriate relationship.

Neuman could face life in prison if he’s found guilty of the shooting.
