MORROW, Ga. (AP) _ The National Archives at Atlanta plans to celebrate the life of Elvis Presley by hosting a birthday party at its facility in Morrow, just south of the city.

The Clayton News Daily reports the local National Archives branch is preparing to celebrate what would have been Presley’s 77th birthday.

The free party is scheduled for Saturday, from 12:30 p.m., to 1:30 p.m., at the archives. The public is invited to attend.

Mary Evelyn Tomlin, the public programs specialist at the facility, said items associated with Elvis are some of the most popular among all records held by the archives.

She said the actual anniversary of his birth will be Sunday, but the National Archives is typically closed that day so the event will be held Saturday.
