When Eileen Thompson moved into her condominium at Emerson Overlook off the Marietta Square, she found a perfect place for an unbeatable lifestyle.

Eleven years ago, Thompson moved to Marietta from California with her husband to be near her son, a Woodstock resident. She and her husband purchased a home off Polk Street close to the Marietta Square. “We fell in love with the Square,” Thompson said.

When her husband passed away in 2004, Thompson began thinking about downsizing. “I wanted a home that required less maintenance,” she said. In 2008, Thompson looked for a new home.

“I was interested in getting a condo,” she said. Thompson noticed a banner advertising Emerson Overlook while on a trip to the bank.

“I thought I would just go look,” she said. “I walked into my unit and said, ‘This is it.” She moved into her home in August.

A corner unit at Emerson Overlook, Thompson’s spacious two-bedroom, two-bath condominium overlooks the Marietta Square toward Kennesaw Mountain. “I fell in love,” she said.

Emerson Overlook, one of Marietta’s few condominiums offers luxurious homes in the heart of Marietta. Thompson enjoys the proximity to the Square her new home offers.

She regularly walks to the Square for conveniences and enjoyment such as coffee and a paper. “It’s a dream come true,” Thompson said.

Another favorite benefit is the view. “When I got this unit, I thought, ‘Oh wow, I can look at a sunset every night when there’s a good one,’” she said.

With a new home in an ideal place, Thompson enjoys her lifestyle. “I fell in love with the Square 12 years ago, and to be able to be so close to it where everything is so convenient is wonderful,” she said. “I am very pleased.”
