Acworth woman is firm's top sales adviser

ACWORTH - Lia Sophia recently announced top honors for its Excellent Beginnings Program Achievers for their outstanding sales accomplishments and professionalism. Rachelle Peddycoart of Acworth earned the recognition in her first 15 weeks by attaining certain sales levels and by sharing Lia Sophia with other new advisers.

"This immediate success is a result of Rachelle's hard work and dedication," said Bonni Davis, vice president of Lia Sophia. "Lia Sophia is fortunate to have this individual as part of our team and we look forward to celebrating future successes."

Agent receives service award

MARIETTA - Allstate Insurance Agent Kent Bates, whose office is located at 4343 Shallowford Road in Marietta, recently received the Agency Hands in the Community Award for his commitment to volunteering in the community. With this award came a $1,000 grant from The Allstate Foundation for Drake House Inc. in Marietta, where Bates volunteers.

Event planners set up shop

marietta - Plan Ahead Events, an event-management company, recently announced a new location at 1000 Whitlock Ave. in Marietta under the ownership of local residents Don Burton, Ron Burton and Candice Medellin.

With 20 years experience in health care administration, Don Burton has planned a variety of events, including conferences, educational meetings, galas, award banquets and golf tournaments. Medellin served as a liaison for community events while coordinating campaign and congressional activities as the scheduler for a U.S. congressional campaign. With 15 years of nonprofit and religious organizational leadership experience, Ron Burton has organized, planned and managed hundreds of events, from humanitarian relief efforts to informal conferences and weddings.
