MARIETTA - A Cobb doctor is accused of sending a picture of a 10-to-14-year-old girl with her private parts exposed to an undercover investigator in May.

Andrew Sutton, 48, of Kennesaw, is charged with two counts of sexual exploitation of a child since he was found to be in possession of the photograph on Sept. 17, according to his arrest warrant.

He turned himself in to police and was booked into Cobb County Jail Monday, according to jail records. He was released later that night on a $10,000 bond.

Cobb Police spokesman Joe Hernandez said local officials worked with authorities in Sturgeon Bay, Wis., to charge Sutton, but could not comment further on specifics of the case.

Sutton's attorney, Joel Pugh, told WSB-TV that Sutton was "swept up in a massive multi-state type sweep and somehow he got caught up in it." Pugh said he believes when all the facts are in, the case will "resolve itself in a favorable manor to Dr. Sutton." Pugh also told the Atlanta news station that Sutton continues to work as an ear, nose and throat doctor.

Sutton works for Northwest ENT and Allergy Center, which has locations in Marietta and Canton. According to Sutton's profile on the practice's website, he lives in Cobb with his four children and also serves as the executive medical director for the Cobb County Sheriff's Office. It is also listed that Sutton serves as a legislative representative of the Metro Atlanta ENT Society and is a member of the Board of Governors of the American Academy of Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery.
