MARIETTA - A Cobb doctor is accused of sending a picture of a 10-to-14-year-old girl with her private parts exposed to an undercover investigator in May.

Andrew Sutton, 48, of Kennesaw, is charged with two counts of sexual exploitation of a child since he was found to be in possession of the photograph on Sept. 17, according to his arrest warrant.

He turned himself in to police and was booked into Cobb County Jail Monday, according to jail records. He was released later that night on a $10,000 bond.

Cobb Police spokesman Joe Hernandez said local officials worked with authorities in Sturgeon Bay, Wis., to charge Sutton, but could not comment further on specifics of the case.

Sutton's attorney, Joel Pugh, told WSB-TV that Sutton was "swept up in a massive multi-state type sweep and somehow he got caught up in it." Pugh said he believes when all the facts are in, the case will "resolve itself in a favorable manor to Dr. Sutton." Pugh also told the Atlanta news station that Sutton continues to work as an ear, nose and throat doctor.

Sutton works for Northwest ENT and Allergy Center, which has locations in Marietta and Canton. According to Sutton's profile on the practice's website, he lives in Cobb with his four children and also serves as the executive medical director for the Cobb County Sheriff's Office. It is also listed that Sutton serves as a legislative representative of the Metro Atlanta ENT Society and is a member of the Board of Governors of the American Academy of Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery.

Ok, we need to wait and see what happens in the courts before we go and hang this guy out to dry. He is a VERY nice person and a REALLY great doctor. I know that doesnt mean he didnt do these things but lets give him the benefit of the doubt here ladies and gentelmen. Sure it is easy to get outraged about things like this and as a parent of one of his patients I think we should wait until the facts are out in the light. Did he do this? I have NO idea one way or the other. I pray for the sake of his family that he didnt and I pray that the truth will com out through this all and that there is no damage done to his reputation for something he is not guilty of.

Dr. Sutton is absolutely a wonderful doctor and person. He has been our family ENT for sometime. I will save judgment until after he is proven guilty. I hate to see anyone lose a business/practice because of unsubstantiated charges and public hysteria.

It helps when he is the executive medical director for the Cobb County Sheriff's Office. Seriously people, people aren't always who you think they are. The last words out of peoples mouths after someone raps or murders someone is...I would have never thought he/she would do something like that...they were always so nice. If it was an everyday person on the street me or you, we would still be in jail.

If he did it burn him. For all you naive parents out there, your 13 or 14 year olds are either sexually active today or they are the oddballs at their schools. Get over it!
What the!?

"...but us normal people have to wait in line?"

Normal people don't end up in the county jail.

What has happened to the "innocent til proven guilty". Isn't that the law you want to be under for your crime...no matter what it is? No one knows the truth...but already willing to have tried and sentenced this man... Didn't someone do the same time to one with much much higher powers over 2000 years ago...??

Dr. Sutton is a wonderful doctor. I hope the facts show that he did not take part in this. If it is just the one picture and the one office computer, it could have been anyone or even a viral trojan horse.

maybe you all should withhold judgement as you know the media is fantastic at sensationalism and seem to love to take down anyone successful. the truth will come out.
You would...

It wasn't special treatment he received it was because of the crime he is charged with.

If he is indicted & convicted, sent to prison & has to register as a sex offender & you only get probation will you be jealous then?
Not right

Heres something I havent heard abuot. I was at the cobb prison cause i just got locked up and was there when this doctor came in. He was given special treatment and walked around by high ups and rush in and rush out. But I had to sit in there for like a half a day before I could get out.

Why is this doctor with child porn getting red carpet star treatment at the cobb prison but us normal people have to wait in line?
