KSU praises Henssler Financial principals

KENNESAW - Theodore L. Parrish, CFA, was named to the Kennesaw State University Foundation's Board of Trustees in October. He will serve on the board's Real Estate and Audit committees. William G. Lako Jr., CFP, was honored as a 2010 recipient of the Kennesaw State University Alumni Association Distinguished Alumni award. He was nominated by Interim Dean Kathy Schwaig, Ph.D., of the Coles College of Business. Both Parrish and Lako are principals at The Henssler Financial Group in Kennesaw.

"It is truly exciting to announce Ted and Bil are being recognized for their commitments to Kennesaw State University," said Gene W. Henssler, Ph.D., president and CEO of The Henssler Financial Group. "These two men are valuable assets. I'm really very proud of them."

The Kennesaw State University Foundation's mission is to serve as an advocate for the University, and to receive, invest, account for, and allocate private gifts and contributions in support of Kennesaw State University. Since 1969, the Kennesaw State University Foundation has been committed to supporting the University.

Parrish has been serving for nine months as head of the projected costs subcommittee for the KSU Football Exploratory Committee. He also serves on the existing sports steering committee to raise funds for KSU athletics, and is a charter member of the 100 Club, the Men's Basketball booster club, which provides funds for scholarships, equipment, travel and general support. As an alumnus of KSU Owls men's basketball team, he provides counseling for athletes that are interested in persuing finance, both personally and professionally.

He also serves in a mentoring program with the Distinguished Black Gentlemen, an organization for African American males to maximize their potential in the collegiate, professional and personal arenas, and the Coles College of Business.

Lako was recognized for his ongoing service to the community and the university. He has maintained the firm's long-term relationship with KSU by supporting the university's internship program. Lako also played an integral part in launching the Coles College of Business Student Managed Investment Fund in 2006.
