Jose Angel Roque was arrested shortly after during a traffic stop at Interstate 285 and Riverside Road. He is charged with trafficking marijuana.
Cobb Police spokesman Officer Joe Hernandez said a witness worked with an officer who was patrolling in the area to locate the cooler. The officer had a K-9 that identified the cooler’s contents, Hernandez said.
According to Roque’s arrest warrant, the chest contained 33.5 pounds of pot that was packaged in 13 separate, pressed blocks and wrapped in shrink wrap and/or duct tape.
Hernandez was unable to say if the cooler was intentionally left behind or if it was intended for someone else. After the marijuana was identified, officers pulled over Roque’s tractor-trailer and took him into custody without incident.
According to the warrant, Roque, of Mercedes, Texas, admitted that the chest was his.
He is being held in Cobb County Jail without bond.

I have a brother who has lived in South Cobb for 35 years and my parents lived there for over 20, moving from Smyrna, where they had lived for 30 years. They passed away, but they had some of the finest neighbors anyone could want. And they raised a bunch of kids who have grown, had families of their own, and every one of them works, pays their bills, and has never been in jail.
I mean, South Cobb may not have all the ritz and glitz but there are families that have been there for a very long time who are as good, honest, kind, hard-working as you can ask for. Mabelton and Austell folks deserve a heck of a lot more respect than you are giving them.
Wonder just how many 'illegals' YOU employ, being you want to ignore their very existance ( which is the reason they have been able to turn virtually every south Cobb community into a 3rd world barrio!!)
Viva la Cobb, the new Juarez!
