While I am positive that it was unintentional, “Angry” Jerry Gonzalez who heads up one of Atlanta’s many illegal alien lobby corporations was in Cobb County recently campaigning for the re-election of Sheriff Warren and the members of the Board of Commissioners.

The above elected officials owe at least a hat-tip to Gonzalez and other members of a race-baiting, anti-enforcement panel - organized by and featuring the usual suspects - for confirming that Cobb County is unfriendly to illegal immigrants. Oh my!

Gonzalez went on to lament that Cobb was the first county in Georgia to take advantage of the federal 287g program.

According the the MDJ, the panelists at Thursday’s “Cobb United for Change Coalition” meeting were the Rev. Lionel Gantt of the Cobb Southern Christian Leadership Conference; Lisa Davis, CobbWorks program services manager; GALEO Executive Director Jerry Gonzalez; educator Dr. Michael Rhett; and Nation of Islam minister Charles Muhammad.

Since July 2007, thousands of Cobb inmates have been identified as illegal aliens and deported because of 287 g, thereby greatly reducing Gonzalez’s stock in trade and hampering his goal of creating potential leftist voters out of the fugitives.

Gonzalez has been howling about the 287(g) program for years. Obama is currently trying to reduce or eliminate the program by greatly reducing funding.

Note: The sound you may not hear is clear, vocal outrage at the president’s dangerous election year pandering from the some Georgia congressmen. Let me know if I am missing something.

Anyway, it is good of Gonzalez to prove that enforcement works and to take time away from his other anti-enforcement, separatist work to help out our county leadership in an election year.

Kevin Foley:

I hardly think that pro immigration enforcement Latino Americans object to the term "illegal alien".

Your statement would have been more accurate if you had said that radical anarchist Latino Americans object to the term "illegal alien".

Mr. Foley, anyone from anywhere who overstays a Visa or crosses our borders without permission is an illegal alien, including Obama's aunt and uncle.

If the title is offensive, I would suggest said illegal alien go back to where they are known as a citizen.

I prefer calling them illegal invaders, mostly because of the huge numbers who feel entitled to break our laws and steal our tax funded services.

Oh, Kevin, DA doesn't have time for your uneducated, drilled-in prattle.

Obama himself tells the foreign language press that the "deportation" numbers he uses are "deceptive" and untrue.

The Obama backdoor amnesty plan is in full force, with a record amount of illegal immigrants spared from deportation and a huge increase in the number of those allowed to remain the United States.

The shift is striking, according to the nonprofit university group that obtained government records outlining the drastic change. The New York-based nonpartisan research center, Transactional Records Access Clearinghouse (TRAC), provides detailed information about the operation of hundreds of government agencies. Immigration is one of many areas it researches.

This week TRAC revealed that during the first three months of fiscal year 2012, cases disposed of in the nation’s immigration courts showed a serious drop in deportation orders and an increase in the number of individuals allowed to stay in the U.S. That means that individuals were ordered removed in only half of the cases, the lowest rate in the past two decades.

An additional 14.0 percent received a “voluntary departure” order to leave the country, up slightly from 13.2 percent during the previous quarter, the records show. Counting both removal and voluntary departure orders, slightly fewer than two out of every three cases (64.8 percent) in the first quarter of fiscal year 2012 ended in a deportation order, also a historic low.

The government records also show that, among individuals determined by Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) to have violated immigration laws, more than one in three (34.4 percent) were allowed to stay in the U.S. This also represented a historic high, which is illustrated in a chart that includes figures for the last several years.

Clearly, the Obama Administration’s stealth amnesty plan to suspend the deportations of most illegal aliens is in play here. The scandalous measure, which has led to a monstrous increase in the dismissal of deportations, was first reported by Texas’s largest newspaper in 2010. Shortly after the story broke, Judicial Watch requested records on the deportation suspensions from the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) under the Freedom of Information Act (FOIA).

Kevin you are wrong, most illegal aliens are set free. If they do not have a record obama has signed executive orders to release them. The problem is, the illegals use aliases to get free.

Yes, DA, as usual you missed something.

Deportations of undocumented workers ("illegal alien" is considered a slur by Latinos, which you already know)is at a record high number under Obama.
