On illegal immigration, the anti-enforcement crowd on both the right and left continually spouts the mindless nonsense that illegal aliens “are only taking jobs that Americans won’t do…” Then they tell us the solution to the crimes of illegal immigration and illegal employment is to repeat the failed amnesty/legalization, path-to-citizenship program of 1986. Transforming the illegal aliens into… Americans.

Got that?

Locally, our ever-dependable foil, MDJ blogger Kevin Foley, qualifies as one of the above “path-to-citizenship-is-the-answer” described lefties.

In a comment post on a recent blog from yours truly, Foley challenges an old friend, Leah Durant, to produce information showing that illegals take jobs from Americans with “I'd love to see the independent data supporting Ms. Durant's assertion that undocumented workers are stealing American jobs.” As long as this character keeps lobbing hanging softballs over the plate, we will continue to smack them into the bleachers.

It is said that a picture is worth a thousand words. We think video is worth even more.

Here is a short CBS Atlanta news video for Kevin Foley from Cobb’s recent past on black-market labor taking the jobs. And criminal employers cheating taxpayers.

And for the members of the Cobb BOC who need encouragement to implement an ordinance requiring that all public contractors be certified through the federal IMAGE program. That no-cost process is opposed by the powerful business lobby including the Chamber of Commerce because it would serve to expose illegal aliens on the contractors payroll.

We lack the time today to post any more links to similar videos. But readers can access some of them on the “videos” page of the under-funded Dustin Inman Society Website.

As always, our gratitude to Kevin Foley for confirming the obvious.

By more than doubling the number of so-called guest workers admitted each year, the bill would help create a permanent underclass of foreign workers. The 2007 Bush-Kennedy proposal was rejected in part because it would have added 125,000 new guest workers. The Gang of Eight bill would add 1.6 million in the first year, and about 600,000 a year after that: That’s the population of Philadelphia in Year One and the population of Boston each year after. That is a lot of taxation without representation. And that is on top of a 50 percent or more increase in the total level of legal immigration. While life as a member of an American underclass surely would be an attractive alternative for members of the underclasses of many other countries, the creation of a large population of second-class workers is undesirable from the point of view of the American national interest, which should be our guiding force in this matter.

Danny: How many? As many as can complete the paper work and get here. This country was founded and developed by immigrants, mine and yours. My ancestors came here for political and religious freedom, with the hope of a better life. The very same reasons why today's immigrants wish to come here.

I realize that the undocumented pay taxes, your lecture on tax law is unnecessary. Many on the

right scream about the undocumented not paying taxes. I have attempted to explain to those who do the most screaming that they are wrong, but it becomes a waste of energy.

The number of young people who will benefit by the recently enacted new immigration policy was originally estimated to be 800,000. I don't care that it has increased to 2 million, the more the better. Not all who apply will be accepted.

The US remains the land of the free, that's why the desperate wish to come here.

Lib - answer the question. HOW MANY legal immigrants should we bring in each year?

AND, BTW - illegal aliens can already pay "taxes" (I assume you mean income taxes) with what is called an ITIN issued by the IRS. You prove here everyday that you have no idea wht you are blathering about. Do you have more than 2 points?

Should we just sell US citizenship worldwide to anyone who can "pay taxes"? Most illegals would qualify for a tax CREDIT Lib - they are here because they will work for lower wages than Americans and legal immigrants. They mostly make low wages and are a potential boon to liberals like you who want government to be the boss on who gets welfare - which they would get as soon as they became legal.

They already scam us out of BILLIONS on tax returns using the ITIN for bogus "child tax credits." You should read (and try to understand) more of King's columns.

You are a left winger Lib. We expect this goffiness from you.

Another BTW: you may not be sharp enough to note, but Obama told us it would be 800,000 illegals who were effected by the amnesty. Now it is nearly twice that - even the LATIMES admits that. It is a scam to start the whole enchilada amnesty. Get Foley to write that I am a racist for knowing what I am talking about?

@Danny Boy: I have never said, I was in favor of open borders. In fact I have said the complete opposite. I would appreciate it if you would not put words in my mouth.

BORDERS ARE RACIST!

Jose Angel Gutierrez, Prof. Univ. Texas at Arlington, founder La Raza Unida Party at UC Riverside 1/1995

"The border remains a military zone. We remain a hunted people. Now you think you have a destiny to fulfill in the land that historically has been ours for forty thousand years. And we're a new Mestizo nation. And they want us to discuss civil rights. Civil rights. What law made by white men to oppress all of us of color, female and male. This is our homeland. We cannot - we will not- and we must not be made illegal in our own homeland. We are not immigrants that came from another country to another country. We are migrants, free to travel the length and breadth of the Americas because we belong here. We are millions. We just have to survive. We have an aging white America. They are not making babies. They are dying. It's a matter of time. The explosion is in our population."

This Lib person wants open borders and is too dumb to see that she keeps saying so, with the "streamlining immigration" line.

We are taking more than a million legal immigrants every year Lib (and King reports we are taking another million or so guest workers)- just how many do you propose? And what "hate" names will you call people who want whatever your number is to be actually, you know, enforced?

Liberals are unable to think.

@frogbreath: Your example of one friend in AL working at a chicken plant is not proof positive that Americans are lining up for those jobs. I have done business with and have been inside of many meat processing plants (beef, pork and poultry) all over the US and I can tell you that there a few Americans working on the processing floor of those plants.

A reasonable and sensible immigration policy is to stop attempting to ship "them" all back to where they come from and immediately streamline the immigration process to allow people to come here legally without miles of red tape and pounds of paperwork. The Dream Act was and is a program which would have done just that for a portion of the undocumented population but after ten years of consideration our congress failed to make the right decision. So in a very wise move President Obama used his power to install a similar program. I will call that a reasonable ans sensible program. The right wingers want the undocumented to pay taxes, with the newly installed program by President Obama, there are a million people who will now be able to work legally and pay taxes. There will always be people like you who are not satisfied that the US is becoming a country with a different complexion. Instead of hating the change, celebrate that change, open your mind and you may learn something.

it really bothers me that you choose to completely ignore the corruption and bs in our government and blame everything on migrants. this country was founded by migrants so unless you are a native american, you don't belong here either! quit being evil!

San: King would not in any circle qualify as an American icon. DA is little more than a big fish in a very small pond who spends his time screaming at passing cars. The leaders of the very county in which he resides do little more than give him a polite audience. Even he complains that the Cobb county leaders don't listen.

For anybody who claims that illegal aliens do jobs that American citizens won't do, please list these jobs that you claim Americans won't do.

Hey Foley. If illegal aliens aren't taking American jobs, how do they make a living? Is it your contention that illegal aliens are independently wealthy and just enter the US illegally for sport?

It may help to know that Tim Lee is answering emails to his office on IMAGE for contractors with the promise that he will work on an ordinace with that requirement in January. IMAGE saves jobs. Illegal aliens take jobs.

Mr. King is an American icon, when it comes to fighting the traitorous Senate and Congress, all to willing and ready to sell out Americans birthright for either votes or cheap labor. Think of all the generations that fought for rights so Americans got a 40 hour work week if they desired so, and decent pay. Allowing illegal immigration and massive legal immigration negates these historical gains. If The American public does not wake up, they will find themselves in a third world nation with no rights, no money and no life to speak of. Get behind Mr. King and help stop groups like the SPLC, ACLU, and all of the CASA's etc., trying to elect a new people for their own vile reasons. It's the ACLU, CASA whatever, and SPLC, etc. that are the HATERS OF AMERICAN CITIZENS. Anyone that supports these groups are haters of the American citizens. It's not rocket science.

Kevin you dear misguided soul. All one has to do to provide proof that illegal aliens take American jobs is to drive by any construction site in the South West. What you and your ideologues fail to understand is that just because an illegal alien hasn't taken your job or depressed your income doesn't mean they haven't done so to others.

Americans have always done construction and it was at one time a middle income job. My father was a carpenter and was earning $500.00 a week in the mid 1960s. Every supporter of illegal immigration and a path to amnesty should have to deal with the consequences of their position. Perhaps MDJ could outsource your job or find an educated illegal alien who would be more then willing to work for less.

Like Truman said, "It's a recession when your neighbor loses his job. It's a depression when you lose yours".

It is a sad day in America, when the party that was supposed to represent the working stiff is now as bad as the one that advocates for cheaper labor!

Hooray for DA! I support the use of the IMAGE system for Cobb contractors. So does my Dem neighbor. How about you Kevin?

Or are you gong to keep insisting that Americans won't work while you tell us we should make illegals into Americans?

Kevin, how many videos would it take for you to admit that you are wrong as usual? Did you ever Google Attrition through enforcement as has been suggested so you would get a different idea than your liberal instructors let you have? Oh, Kevin.

D A

Not much has changed with road construction. Every time I pass a road construction crew, I notice there are still a lot of men on the job who are speaking Spanish.

I the past when the work on the intersection of Barret and Cobb Pkwy was underway of weeks, the trucks of CWM were surrounded by men speaking Spanish.

Young American men who have messed up in the past and do not have a clean record, would like to have these jobs.

These employers are not conforming to the E-Verify standards. I doubt they are using it. I doubt they er=are using IMAGE too.

I address Lib in Cobb-

Your use of chicken plant processing employment is false. It is, indeed , a hard job and if one could make the same money and face easier job conditions, who could blame them for doing so.

I have a young friend in Cherokee Co.,Alabama. The passing of the immigration law in Al. resulted in a number of illegal immigrants disappearing from the job. My young freind got hired in the chicken processing plant and was glad to get the job.

I feel Lib in Cobb, you have not been confronted with the choices of many Americans wj=ho are of lower skills.

Hiring illegals at below market standard wages helps the employer with his bottom line, but is harmful to American workers. Contrary to what you say, there are many Ameicans who would be glad to have the jobs that once paid $12/hour and are now filled by illegals at $8 an hour.

My young fiend tells me, "The job sucks, but I need the paycheck".

I would like to know what your defintion of "a reasonable and sensible policy of immigration" is. I can guess that since you chalolenge D A King so much, most would probably disagree with you.

From The Hill in DC:

President Obama’s reckless amnesty agenda has proved to be both dangerous and deadly for the American people. The House Judiciary Committee this week released a report finding that thousands of illegal and criminal immigrants not detained or deported by federal authorities have gone on to commit more crimes, including murder, rape, kidnapping, and child molestation.

As part of the committee’s oversight responsibility, a subpoena was issued to the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) last November for a list of illegal and criminal immigrants who have been brought to the agency’s attention through the Secure Communities program but who have not been detained or deported by the agency.

Secure Communities is designed to keep our neighborhoods safe by identifying illegal and criminal immigrants in police custody who have been arrested and fingerprinted. Rather than protect the American people he was elected to serve, President Obama has not enforced this commonsense public safety program.

The Obama administration’s lax immigration policies have allowed potentially millions of illegal immigrants to avoid current immigration laws, even though they have been apprehended by law enforcement. Administration officials claim they want to focus on deporting criminal immigrants accused of serious crimes. But if illegal immigrants already arrested aren’t a priority, then who is?...

My son in law lost his fence business three years ago because he couldn't make an honest living with American labor. The illegal-run competition would always offer lower prices because they were hiring illegals and paying very low wages.

Most of the workers were living 2 families to a house or trailer and they used our hospitals for medical teatment. For free. I saw all of this myself. One trailer had 15 yong men living in squalor sleeping on the floor and Cherokee County would do nothing about the code violation.

Nobody here expected Foley to admit that illegal aliens steal jobs and lower wages. No matter how many videos King puts up. All liberals are the same.

The sad part is that King is right on something else - it is the Chamber of Commerce that has the power and uses it to stop enforcement.

Foley, you strike out again. And Lib: you are too simple for words. Thank you Mr. King.
