YOUNG, Linda Kaye
YOUNG, Linda Kaye
Linda Kaye Young of Smyrna, Georgia passed away on Wednesday, March 26, 2014. A Cobb County native, she was born to the late George W. Young, Jr. and Helen Chumney Young and was a devoted daughter and loving sister.  She began her career as an Executive Assistant upon leaving Campbell High School and was a dedicated employee for many years with The Home Depot and Invesco, Ltd. For many years, Linda was an avid Atlanta sports enthusiast who could be found at almost every Braves, Flames, and Falcons game.  A passionate cat lover, she later directed her zeal for sports to animal adoption and rescue with Georgia Homeless Pets, where she was one of their most ardent volunteers. A very sweet, lovely, beautiful, amazingly strong woman, dear friend and precious sister, Linda will be deeply missed by all as we look forward to the day we see her again. Linda is survived by her sister, Anna Young Festa of Atlanta; her nephew, Dustin Tomlin of Smyrna; her aunt and uncle, Bill and Jane Young of Atlanta; and cherished cousins Kathy and Neely Young, Judy Morrison, Becky Thomas and Jim Thomas of Marietta, Billy, Howard and Steve Young of Atlanta, Craig and Brenda Chumney of Baton Rouge, LA, and Vicki Chumney Powell of New Orleans, LA. Friends will be received between the hours of 4 until 6 o’clock at Mayes Ward-Dobbins Funeral Home in Marietta on the afternoon of Saturday, March 29, 2014.  The funeral will be held at 2 o’clock in the chapel at Mayes Ward-Dobbins on Sunday, March 30, 2014.  Interment will follow the service at Cheatham Hill Memorial Park. Memorial contributions may be made to Georgia Homeless Pets, P.O. Box 723213, Atlanta, GA  31139.
