Whitefield Academy’s Board of Trustees announced Monday that interim headmaster Dr. Kevin Bracher is officially the school’s new full-time headmaster.

“To become the lead servant in a magnificent community of students, parents and staff realizing such success is a dream come true,” Bracher said.

“I am honored to serve in this capacity and look forward to continuing to build on the firm foundation set by those before me.”

Marsha Burke, the board chair, said they are honored to name Bracher their school’s new headmaster.

“After a rigorous search in conjunction with the search firm, SIMA International, the board unanimously selected Dr. Kevin Bracher to lead Whitefield Academy as headmaster,” she said.

“Dr. Kevin Bracher is uniquely qualified for this role given his commitment to excellence in all facets of Christian education, his experience in the Whitefield community and his track record as a collaborative leader.”

Bracher has been with the Smyrna area school for the last six years, serving as middle school principal, academic dean and most recently interim head master.

“Selecting a head of school is one of the most important duties of a trustee,” Burke said.

“Kevin is an exceptional leader who will keep Whitefield true to its mission of bolstering Christian families in rearing young people who go on to college and life with a passion for learning, for others ahead of self and for the living and active Jesus.

“Kevin will do all this, and inspire us to do even more through his remarkable, Christ-centered leadership.”

Burke also thanked a number of individuals in the Whitefield community who helped with the selection.

“Well over 100 members of our community participated in focus groups, search advisory groups and prayer meetings during the four-month process,” she said.

He will assume the position immediately.

“This announcement is a great ending to a wonderful school year as we celebrate the milestones of graduation, baccalaureate and many end-of-year festivities over the next few weeks,” Burke said.

“We are thankful for Whitefield’s many blessings, grateful for the firm foundations laid by our founders and are excited about Whitefield’s bright future.”
