MARIETTA — A Marietta man was arrested Monday by the Marietta Police Department and charged with shooting five rounds from a .40-caliber Glock Model 27 semi-auto pistol while intoxicated on Monday night.

Quinn Martin Jones was charged with three misdemeanors for alleged reckless conduct, discharging of a weapon near a street and discharging a weapon while under the influence.

Jones was “intoxicated in his backyard at night with no regard for where the bullet would travel, persons in the area or ricochet concerns,” according to the warrant.

The warrant said Jones’ “speech was slurred, his balance unsteady,” at the time of the incident that was in a “crowded neighborhood,” 100 feet from a road and 50 yards from a highway.

Both Cobb Parkway and South Marietta Parkway are near the residence.

Carla Roberson was 20 feet away on the other side of a fence when the shooting occurred at about 1 a.m. on Bellvue Drive, just south of Victory Park east of Fairground Street, according to the warrant.

Quinn was released the next day on a $3,500 bond.
