Carl Clark of Marietta faces charges after a night of alleged public drunkenness and obnoxious and disruptive behavior and statements, according to the arrest warrant.

Clark allegedly stood in the middle of South Marietta Parkway at 1:45 a.m. while screaming and using obscene language and gestures at passing vehicles. Clark also is accused of threatening a police officer at the Cobb County jail, saying he would kill the officer after his release.

Clark was arrested May 28 by the Cobb County Sheriff’s Office and jailed on a $15,000 bond. He was charged with public drunkenness and terroristic threats.

So a guy is drunk in public and engaged in obnoxious and disruptive behavior and making obnoxious statements and the Cobb County Sheriff charges him with making TERRORISTIC Threats?

A Stupid Deputy? Or just another example of over-reaching government in the form of thug law enforcement? People are getting tired of this abusive nonsense from government...yes, even when LE is dealing with people who have broken a law.

If the guy was drunk in public, charge him for public drunkenness but, DO NOT charge him with breaking a law that was designed to protect us from real terrorism...even if the guy was really, really, really obnoxious.

Stop the nonsense/abuse, Sheriff!

This guy is being charged with terroristic threats because he made threats to kill an officer. If you are an attorney, you need to go back to law school. If not, you need to read the entire story.

Once again the South Marietta Parkway Transfer Station is proven to be on the wrong side of the road. If only he could have just gone home without having to cross 50MPH traffic headed toward West Cobb Paluding and nearly get hit by some drunken jack-$$$ sexting while DWI, perhaps he would not have been so irate while doing the right thing and using the bus to go home after drinking.

Can we just tear up the West half of the Marietta Parkway and start over? Please? It's an absolute disaster for Marietta.

Where in the story did it say he was trying to cross the road to the transfer station? I guess you are either the idiot charged or one of his friends. I seriously doubt his rant was caused by traffic stopping him from getting a bus - c'mon - we are not stupid here.
