An employee at Vittles Restaurant in Smyrna is accused of taking meat from the store last week.

Kenneth Darnell Thompson of Marietta was arrested Aug. 22 after allegedly taking 10 pounds of ground beef and five racks of ribs valued at $65 from the restaurant at that same day, the warrant states.

He is also accused of setting paper and his mattress on fire while in a holding cell at the Smyrna Police Department.

He was charged with theft by taking, criminal interference with government property and rioting in a penal institution. He remains in the Cobb County Jail on a $10,000 bond.
