VFW, ladies auxiliary honored at convention

MARIETTA — Rainbow Post 2681 and its Ladies Auxiliary received honors at a convention June 7 to 10 at the Marriott Macon City Center. Dan Gardner was honored as All State Post Commander; Dianne Ryan as first runner-up for Outstanding Auxiliary President; and Earl Higinbotham as All State Post Quartermaster. Carl Ryan and Wilma Clark were honored as Outstanding Community Service Chairmen; Chris Vail and Vivian Hanson as Outstanding Americanism Chairmen; Carl Ryan and Joyce Bickley as Outstanding Youth Activities Chairmen; Lennie Houston and Sheri Levine as Outstanding Public Safety Chairmen; Charlie and Gailya Stephenson as Outstanding Buddy Poppy Chairmen. Margaret Smith was honored as Outstanding Hospital Chairman and Laurinda Rogers as Outstanding Legislative Chairman. Rainbow Ladies Auxiliary was also recognized for having the largest numeric gain in life memberships.
