Cobb County Police arrested Casen Erwin and Levar Rhea on Saturday on felony armed robbery charges after they allegedly lured a victim and used a Taser as part of their theft.
According to the arrest warrants, Erwin and Rhea lured the victim to the Pennington Pointe apartments on Terrell Mill Road in Marietta with the promise of a cash vehicle purchase. After the man and Erwin agreed on a purchase price, they went into the breezeway of an apartment building to obtain the car’s ownership papers.
At that point, according to police, Rhea came up behind the victim and shot him in the neck with a Taser stun gun.
Then Erwin allegedly pointed a semi-automatic handgun at the man and demanded his valuables, which included $1,100 and a cellphone. Both men then fled on foot.
Cobb Police investigators tracked down Erwin through the telephone number he used to contact the victim. They then arrested him at an apartment at Westminster Square on Windy Hill Road, where both suspects lived as roommates.
The victim identified Erwin through a photographic lineup as the man who pointed a gun at him.
Erwin has been charged with armed robbery, felony aggravated assault and simple battery. Rhea was charged with armed robbery and battery-visible harm.
The victim’s injuries included two small burn marks on his neck from the Taser.
Both Erwin and Rhea are being held in Cobb County Jail without bond.
