Jeremy Denk with the KSU Symphony Orchestra

WHAT: As part of the Guest Artist Series, American pianist Jeremy Denk will perform with the KSU Symphony Orchestra. Named Musical America’s 2014 Instrumentalist of the Year and a recipient of a 2013 MacArthur Foundation “Genius Grant,” Denk will perform a solo repertoire as well as a performance of Mozart’s Piano Concerto No. 25 K, 503 with the KSU Symphony Orchestra.

Good Mews Holiday Décor Market

WHAT: The Good Mews annual Holiday Décor Market will feature festive fall décor, collectibles, ornaments and tree trimmings, party platters and serving ware and knick-knacks. All proceeds benefit Good Mews, a local non-profit organization, which operates a volunteer-based, no-kill shelter for homeless, abused and abandoned cats.

Fourth Annual Festival of Trees

WHAT: The Embassy Suites Atlanta – Galleria will have the Fourth Annual Festival of Trees, a charitable event with 37 local non-profit organizations participating and sponsored by the hotel and Atlanta-area businesses. Each non-profit organization will decorate a Christmas tree – many donated by select partner businesses that will be on display 24/7 in the hotel’s atrium for seven weeks. Atlanta residents and hotel guests are invited to give donations on behalf of the participating charities’ trees. There is no charge to visit the display, and parking is free. The tree with the largest monetary donations will receive an additional $1,000 gift from the Embassy Suites Atlanta - Galleria. On the third Tuesday of December, the hotel’s nightly Reception will transform into a Private Gala for the charitable organizations. Local choirs, musicians, and performing arts organizations will provide entertainment and fine foods and holiday spirits will be served to hotel guests and the members of the participating charities and local businesses. A local luminary will also be on hand to award the recipients the donations collected as well as the $1,000 grand prize.
