In attendance were Ruth Milliken, who celebrated her birthday July 6; Hazel Koch, whose 91st birthday is July 27; Joe and Charlotte Bellamy; Julia Adams, celebrating her 96th birthday in a few months; and Libby Horne.
Family and friends in attendance included Stephanie Powell, Patsy Gills of Ft. Mill, S.C., Meri Cotney, Karen Carlisle, Julia and Denny Worth and Beth Pence. Mayor Steve “Thunder” Tumlin, nephew of two of the celebrants, was unable to attend, but hopes to join them next year.
The party enjoyed a wonderful lunch, delicious desserts, and received stunning floral arrangements created by Meri Cotney and delectable miniature pecan praline bundt cakes provided by Powell.
It was a delightful event that Lee hopes to continue hosting when his clients celebrate their hundredth birthdays.
Following the walk, a Youth Explosion will be held for the community at Sweetwater Park to promote love, hope, unity and support to the young at heart. Activities are planned, and free food boxes will be provided. To volunteer or to learn more, contact Catrina Green at (404) 951-1333.
