A 17-year-old is dead following a vehicle crash around noon Saturday.

Rodrigo Solorio was driving a blue 1989 Nissan 240SX and attempted a left turn from Chamberlain Circle onto Austell Road when his truck entered into the path of another vehicle.

A 2002 black Land Rover Range Rover struck the truck on the driver’s side, according to Cobb police.

Solorio was pronounced dead at WellStar Kennestone Hospital.

The driver of the Land Rover, Wilson Marcellus, 45, of Douglasville, was taken the hospital with non-life threatening injuries. A passenger, Marc Paul, 69, also of Douglasville also had non-life threatening injuries.

No charges are expected to be filed.

I taught this young man and am so sad that his life was taken. He was a GREAT kid and had a bright future ahead of him. His family is in my thoughts and prayers.
