McLain Henry, a rising junior at Hillgrove High School, recently donated 10 inches of her hair to Locks of Love, a nonprofit organization that, according to its website, provides hairpieces to financially disadvantaged children suffering from long-term medical hair loss from any diagnosis.

This is not the first time the 16-year-old donated her hair to Locks of Love. When McLain was in the fifth grade, her mother, Renee Henry, was diagnosed with Stage 3 breast cancer. McLain donated her hair and decided to grow it out again to donate in celebration of Renee’s five years being cancer free.

Stylist Olivia Ohlin at True Salon at The Avenue West Cobb cut McLain’s hair.
