GO gospel at Six Flags Over Georgia on Saturday, when the park is set to have JoyFest — one of the country’s largest gospel festivals.

“I do Jesus music,” said Kirk Franklin, a Texas resident and multi-platinum gospel music singer and featured artist at JoyFest.

“The line-up this year is amazing. I’ll be there performing with my good friends Marvin Sapp, Le’Andria Johnson and Isaac Carree. We’re going to have a Holy Ghost party,” Franklin said.

Brought to Six Flags by Premier Festivals, the concert also features Bone Hampton.

Musical Affirmation of Christ, winner of the JoyFest-Ga. talent contest also will make an appearance.

JoyFest is a family-friendly event everyone will enjoy. “I love participating in JoyFest because it brings together so many people. Families come out to have a great time at the amusement park and then enjoy a great concert,” Franklin said.

Six Flags is at 275 Riverside Parkway in Austell (on Interstate 20, just west of Atlanta), and will be open from 10 a.m. until 10 p.m. for JoyFest, which starts at 3 p.m. Performances may run past park hours.

For ticket information, visit sixflags.com/overGeorgia/index.aspx and click events, or see joyfest.org, or call 1 (800) 965-9324. Admission to the park is free with the purchase of a JoyFest ticket.
